Darfur United’s First Game

By Gabriel / June, 4, 2012

The team had its first official game ever against North Cyprus – we lost 15-0. They lost big, but it was a magical day. It is also the first time they’ve ever played on grass — or even just kicked the ball around on grass (their training field here has been worn-down turf). They looked disappointed but soon rebounded, and you could see that they knew about the significance of this day. The NC team was powerful and skilled and are a top favorite to win it all. Looking forward, there is another game tomorrow. Our guys will again play hard and improve and represent Darfur. Before and after the game, the DU players were the ones interviewed and are a crowd favorite anywhere they go. They deserve it!
