The i-ACT team is heading back to camp Djabal! The team will be checking in on the Darfur United Soccer Academy, providing support to the coaches, and getting some insight from the players!

It’s been over a year since we launched DUSA Djabal, the first camp to host a Darfur United Soccer Academy. To date, the coaches are implementing the Academy six days a week and serving over 1,300 boys and girls! For girls, DUSA is the first opportunity they’ve had to play soccer; and for most children participating, it’s one of the only programs in the camp offering them a safe place to learn and play with their peers. Furthermore, the DUSA female coaches Leila and Habiba have set a new precedent for girls and women in the camps. They are the first women in their community to not only play soccer with the boys, but be leaders in the sport. They are true role models.

In order to further support the coaches and the children, i-ACT will begin the planning process of a DUSA clubhouse, provide new curriculum for the coaches, and share lots of pictures and videos in order to connect you with the DUSA Djabal coaches, players, and community.
